How does Portfolio Professional work?

Portfolio Professional uses different levels of fundamental data, all emailed directly to your PC. Our data is formatted for use only with Portfolio Professional and integrates simply and seamlessly into your database. It is specially tailored to maximise the efficiency of the system and one simple command updates all your data. Daily or weekly updates by email are available and are included in Your Club Updata Membership.

Fairshares Portfolio Professional can store price data, daily or weekly, via email from Updata or from a live stock market data feed, delivered to your PC via a standard TV aerial. Fundamentals data is delivered regularly via email.

What do I get when I buy the system?

Your Portfolio Professional package will include the Portfolio Pro package, complete with comprehensive manual. If you purchased portfolio Professional with a real-time feed you will also receive an external decoder, a year's subscription to Prestel’s real-time LSE service, London Stock Exchange fees for one year and a years Club Updata Support. All Portfolio Professional packages are delivered by courier.

If you purchased Portfolio Professional with end of day/week prices or fundamental data you will receive a ready-customised license disk set up with your data requirements. Emails will start arriving within a week.

What do I need when I buy Portfolio Professional?

We recommend a Pentium 200 processor, with 64Mb of RAM, and 400Mb of free hard disk as a minimum specification. We do, however, suggest that the better the specification of your PC, the more you will get out of the program.

For real-time data feeds Updata supply an external decoder unit that connects to the TV aerial and takes the live feed into the serial port of your PC.

For a real-time feed you will need a clear TV signal for channel 3, (ITV). You will also need a free serial port to your PC.
