The DDE Server acts as a link between applications. It allows the transfer of data from one application to another e.g. the transfer of data from the Updata Trader applications to Microsoft Excel. Data cannot be manipulated within the Updata applications it can only give information. The DDE Server supports the transfer Of data from the Updata group of programs to other applications, where the data can be manipulated.
Using the DDE Server, links can be created between the place of origin of data and the destination application. With this link, calculations done on data within the destination application are immediately updated once there is a change in data from the original source. E.g. once there is an update in price in the Trader then the excel worksheet is automatically re-calculated to reflect the change in price.
