Overlays
The Overlay function allows comparative analysis between several price lines. This is important in charting because it allows you to see clearly whether, over two or more price histories, prices have followed each other very closely or whether they have shown no similarities in movement at all. Using overlays you can see relative performance at a glance.
-
Absolute: draws the selected chart unchanged and not scaled; useful if the instruments to compare have the same price range.
-
Rebased: draws the selected price line with the base of the original graph as the starting point
-
Relative: draws the selected price line with each point related to each point of the original graph
